We started in business by purchasing a pub called Cardinal Puff's Pub located in a small plaza on Altamont Avenue in 1982 (after working many years in the food and spirits industry). Our main focus then was to provide a pub type atmosphere with light fare, specializing in chicken wings, burgers etc., and weekly entertainment. Since Bill, my husband and partner, is a Buffalonian transplant, making a great wing was easy to accomplish. We changed the name to Scarboroughs Restaurant in 1987 because our patrons were aging, as we were; and we needed to change our venue. Our restaurant continued to evolve through the years with the addition of a dinner side to our menu, imported beers, and a terrific wine list.

In 1996, the small plaza where we were located on Altamont Avenue changed with the addition of some very large anchor stores and Scarboroughs was moved to a different spot within the same plaza.

Even though we are residents of Colonie, and have been in business here in

Rotterdam for almost 24 years, it would be fair to say we have many regular customers (and many new ones too). We have come to know generations of families. These people come not only for our good food, but also they come for the hospitality (our staff is very friendly!) and the hominess.

We have great - burgers, grilled sandwiches, cream of broccoli, and French onion soups (all made on premise); a wonderful variety of hearty salads, house specialties that represent various regions of our country, and of course, one of the best wing houses in the capital district.

We love to pleasure our patrons; that's what makes this business challenging and ultimately, very rewarding. When we see a first time customer re-visit Scarboroughs, we know we've done just that.

In today's business climate, with the advent of chain restaurants opening their doors to our neighborhoods, we find this to be a monumental challenge. to compete, it is essential that we are able to identify and by all means, satisfy the needs of our patrons.

We make it our goal to support the community that supports us by donating to the schools, senior citizens organizations, the police and fire organized events, local sports, etc.
